"The best way to observe a fish, is to become a fish."
Jacques Cousteau

Welcome to the family Marissa! The weekend couldn't have been more perfect. We enjoyed our time in Northern California, the beautiful surroundings and warm, welcoming people. We are grateful to have a new daughter-in-law, that is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! Few moments in life cause us to stop and think about what really matters. This is one of those. Family matters. Clark and Marissa began theirs on Saturday. It was a good day. Heaven smiled on us all :)

unBEElievable!

This is an amazing hobby! We just love our new adventures taking care of bees. They are alive and well! We have been feeding them sugar water every day. Soon they will have doubled their population. No bee stings yet! If all goes well, we might even get some honey out of this.

Goldilocks...JUST RIGHT...

Happy Mother's day to all the mother's in my life! Thank you for all the nurturing and loving for me and all of mine.
Today, I am sitting in the family room watching my family scurry around the kitchen. I have been told to get out of the kitchen and put my feet up. Well, Okay. Sounds good to me--a good time to blog.

Yesterday was a great day! Mindy and I conquered a 60 mile Ride (not race) called the Goldilocks.--Not too hard, not too easy, just right. And the best part for me was my riding companion. PLUS***They had the best snacks along the way--swedish fish! and licorice, pretzels and plenty of gatorade. Then! in the middle--(mile 30, or 40 something, we lost track) they had a catered lunch.wow! it was soo yummy! the peanut butter cookies were the best! The weather was fantastic and we rested for...a loooong time (what's the hurry, this is a ride, not a race) so we took our time. It was really great--both husbands were there at the finish which was fun (they are the photographers)
Brian took this one at the intersection where he brought my cleats which were accidentally left at home--oops! (were we really prepared for this?, no.)

This is us at the end. We were supposed to both raise our bikes high above our heads in triumph...um..well, her bike is a LOT lighter than mine...
(not really true)
