Tiburon is in Marin County, California. It occupies most of the Tiburon Peninsula, which reaches south into the San Francisco Bay. This is where Clark lives. We visited last weekend. Wow! What a lovely place.
The city's name derives from the Spanish word tiburón, which means "shark".
The name was first given to the peninsula on which the city is
situated, and probably inspired by the prevalence of locally native leopard sharks
in the surrounding waters. Yikes! We walked along the shoreline trail
which was more than breathtaking! A perfect Sunday stroll. It is a commuter and tourist town, linked by fast ferry services to San Franciso (which we rode last time we visited).
The San Francisco Bay Trail, used by hikers and cyclists, and Richardson Bay Park and Richardson Bay Sanctuary provide excellent opportunities for observing wildlife. He lives in Heaven, we decided! He walks to work, or can take the ferry to and from the city when he wants to (or when we come to visit).
