Toward the Light

 

The Sunflower moves itself in the most direct position in front of the sun so it can get the maximum sun rays.  This is symbolic of spiritual faith. 
 "With faith in God, his prophets, his church, and ourselves--with faith in our own divine creation--we may be peaceful and let go of our cares and troubles over so many things.  We may believe--nothing doubting--in the light that shines, even in a dark place." Patricia Holland. 
 I caught this shot with my phone on a run one day just outside my house.  It was a tender mercy that day as I was feeling overwhelmed and heart sick for Clark (just days after his accident) The beauty in these flowers gave me renewed strength and a determination to trust in the Lord and carry on.

In his recovery, snow started to fall--he was taking out the trash (yes, barefoot) and Brian caught this scene. So grateful for life and its simple joys.
