JUST as Amy was recovering from her shoulder surgery (swimming injury) she fell coming out of school. With no way to catch her fall, since her arm was in a sling, she hit hard on the concrete and fractured her skull--a basilar skull fracture. Ouch! I'd post the video (it was caught on the school surveillance cameras) but it makes me too sad to watch. So, back to the hospital this time to visit Clarks Neurosurgeon (she stayed on the same floor that Clark was--just down from his old room)
waiting for them to take her to pre-op--happy! and all checked in
happy girl--pre surgery
catching some sleep while we wait in the doctors lounge for the procedure to be completed
post op
it's nice to have the besties visit
the shoulder block from anesthesia caused her right eye to droop--haha we had a good laugh at that
they started physical therapy the next day! she's been hard at work doing stretches ever since
THEN just as she was getting over the surgery--tragedy struck ...Literally..her head. This is a crummy photo (not too clear) of her xray. Look closely on the left side bottom--you can see the fracture and the air trapped outside of the brain.

to move her from pediatrics to the neuro floor they used a wagon of course
pretty sick girl--very light sensitive
...just in case, you know.. (unfortunately one of the symptoms of this injury is vomiting, lots of vomiting)
friends are the best medicine
and brothers who feed you (and sneak bites of their own)
home again for recovery number two
getting stronger every day!
